Microgrid Energy Opens Denver Office

Microgrid Energy recently expanded its footprint with the establishment of a permanent office in Denver, Colorado. In October, the company relocated its veteran sales director, Kacie Peters, to establish the market for commercial PACE projects and recruited Mat Elmore, formerly with Elevate Energy, to help head up the new regional team.

“We hope to take advantage of the abundant solar resources in Colorado and the emerging commercial PACE program, COPACE, through this expansion,” said Microgrid Energy CEO, Rick Hunter. “The COPACE program is one of the most progressive in the country, and our whole team is excited about the opportunities in this region. We’ve seen PACE revolutionize the commercial market for solar and efficiency, and we’re proud to be bringing our expertise here full time.”

Microgrid’s Denver team is focused on creating comprehensive energy savings packages to commercial property owners – packages that yield significant financial savings, while at the same time reducing the building’s carbon footprint. Microgrid chose the Alliance Center, Denver’s hub of sustainability, as home for its new regional offices. The multi-tenant, shared space is home to sustainably-focused companies such as the Sierra ClubColorado Solar Energy Industry Association (COSEIA), and the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). “As a certified B-Corporation, the opportunity to foster sustainability is important to us and we love working so closely with like-minded nonprofits,” said Peters. “Collaboration is the best resource for creating comprehensive solutions to environmental problems, and working directly with these issues-based organizations will allow us all to better achieve our missions.”

The COPACE program is set to fully launch early 2016, and the Microgrid team has plans to expand staffing and resources to handle the demand of incoming projects and site visits.
